Planning

LAYER Architecture has helped a range of institutions plan and grow, developing campuses that best serve and enable their missions.  Our working model is an iterative and collaborative process that carefully tests programmatic needs to existing conditions, available infrastructure, and the opportunity to enliven and enrich the campus landscape, spatial organization and accessibility. This down-to-earth approach capitalizes on personal architectural experience with virtually every building type, whether athletic, administrative, infrastructure, instructional, recreational, research, or residential.

Our design and planning work for academic clients has always been intertwined.  We have had the pleasure of collaborating in civic and campus planning work for the following clients:

Avenue of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA)

The Agnes Irwin School (Rosemont, PA)

Trinity College (Hartford, CT)

Delaware County Community College (Media, PA)

The National Park Service (Philadelphia, PA)
